Materials & Making

Every Casa Legame vessel begins with a block of natural stone, selected for its color, movement and individual character.

Formed over time, each block carries its own veining, tonal shifts, mineral markings and irregularities. We do not try to disguise them. They are part of the material and part of what makes every finished piece singular.

CARVED FROM ONE BLOCK.

Each vessel is individually carved from solid stone and finished by hand. The form is gradually revealed through cutting, shaping, smoothing and polishing, with details worked directly into the stone rather than applied afterward.

The process does not seek perfect uniformity. Differences in veining, tone, markings and subtle variations in form are inherent to both the material and the handwork. No two vessels will ever be exactly alike.

NATURAL STONE, LEFT NATURAL.

Casa Legame vessels are intentionally left unsealed.

Natural stone is porous and will continue to respond to water, food, touch and time. Subtle changes in tone or patina may develop with use. We consider this part of living with a natural material rather than something to conceal beneath a coating.

Each vessel is made for the daily rituals of food and water and intended to remain in view as part of the room.

Hand wash with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral cleanser. Rinse and dry thoroughly after use. Avoid acidic or abrasive products, harsh chemicals and scrub pads. Not dishwasher safe.
